The old fart’s top health story is about Druids, an ancient practice of ancient practices that was once dead, but is now very much alive and gaining popularity. Druidism, also called Druidry, was a priestly class of Celts who lived about 2000 years ago. While today it’s been re-registered as an official religion, Druidry really isn’t a religion in the truest sense at all. The Druid’s ‘belief’ was simple; gather knowledge from the world around you and learn your full potential, then apply both in a beneficial way.
Druids Were More Of A Culture Than A Cult
Once feared, and therefore annihilated by Roman armies, Druids had no priests and priestesses per se, but were regarded with deep respect for their knowledge, wisdom and desire to help. They were more of a culture than a cult, people who found every opportunity to learn and share with each other in order to constantly expand their collective wisdom. Druidism is a healing faith, a nature based life practice that has many elements in common with New Age and Wicca, but with a focus on ancestry and nature.
Ancient Druids were astronomers, philosophers, teachers, counselors, physicians, masons, scientists, alchemists and metal-workers and explorers. The name Druid is believed to mean ‘A Forest Sage’ or ‘Strong Seer’. Druidry is a natural earth based approach to spirituality, as opposed to those based on unnatural, or supernatural forces, such as Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. Druids understood and could both manipulate unseen environments using natural elements such as crystals, and control forces such as gravitational flow with objects like lodestones (naturally magnetized pieces of the mineral magnetite).
Druidry Is A Natural Earth Based Approach To Spirituality
They were fierce protectors of the wilderness, and always offered to assist development to insure that it was done in harmonious ways. They knew natural medicines and poisons, and when both were best used. And because Druids were considered fair, wise, and just, they were entrusted with resolving public and private disputes, especially those involving matters of life and death, arbitrated in war, and counseled royalty.
Romans Butchered The Druids
When the Romans came in 57AD they butchered the Druids, hunting them down and murdering them like rabid dogs. But now, over 2,000 years later, the Druids are back. Some through bloodline, some through spiritual awakening, and some through education. For most the process of becoming a Druid is a lengthy one that requires decades to achieve the levels of understanding necessary to achieve the powers and abilities of a master Druid. It takes a long time for for most, yet there are a few persons who naturally have rare and amazing natural abilities, and the restraint not to abuse them who find themselves ‘drawn’ to Druidry.
The Process Of Becoming A Druid Is A Lengthy One
So to all you boys and girls who think you can apply to a Druid University and in four short years have yourself a degree, sorry. That’s NOT going to happen. Becoming a Druid cannot be rushed, and there’s no graduation, only continuation. Don’t get me wrong, Druids recognize and celebrate levels of learning much as parents celebrate their children passing a grade, but it’s not the scholastic milestone that they celebrate, but the acquisition of skill that they in turn can teach to others.
Today Druid Powers Are Hired By Government
That’s right, governments turned to Druids in a desperate last-ditch effort to reduce and prevent traffic deaths. Take Austria for example. In 2010 Austrian transportation officials secretly hired Druids to drain the negative energy from infamous traffic accident ‘black spots’ (areas of high traffic fatality). An initial trial was conducted to see if the concept had merit. It produced such impressive results that officials rolled out the scheme nationwide, and hired a full-time team of Druids to duplicate the result across the country. The team’s said to have reduced fatal accidents at one tragically notorious crash site to ‘absolutely none’ after restoring its “terrestrial radiation”.
So, for all the reasons listed above, this old fart chose the Druid story because I reckon that the world’s become so horribly out of balance that it needs Druids more today than it ever has before. Now for those of you who are intrigued by Druidry, and want more information, I suggest you start by contacting the international Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids.
