The old fart’s top news story of the day is about the horrifying side effects of the Coronavirus that no one saw coming until it was too late. I speak of global mental illnesses. That’s right, in addition to all the reported respiratory effects, Coronavirus has caused a global epidemic of paranoia, hoarding, and Coronaphobia. Never has the world seen such a horrifying disease, one that actually does so little, yet has driven most of the world quite insane.
Coronavirus Causing Global Mental Illnesses
Proof of just how insane, is that as last night there were 169,387 confirmed cases of Coronavirus reported globally, and 6,513 deaths, according to data the latest rally from the database of Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering. Of those, the U.S. has had at least 3,774 confirmed coronavirus cases, and 69 deaths so far. Now, let’s put that into perspective.
Coronavirus Has A LONG Way To Go
The U.S, Center for Disease Control estimates that since the year 2010 regular influenzas have averaged between 9 – 45 million people becoming sick, resulting in between 140,000 – 810,000 people requiring hospitalization, and tragically 12,000 – 61,000 deaths . So… with just 169,387 cases versus 9 to 45 million, and 6,513 deaths versus 12,000 to 60,000, Coronavirus has a LONG way to go just to be average.
Global Hoarding Disorder, Agoraphobia and Illness Anxiety Disorders
However, it has infected far more people in another way, and that’s the severe mental illnesses that it has caused in people around the globe who’ve never had, and possibly never will have, any contact with the disease. Why, just the mention of the virus has caused widespread hoarding disorders, horrifying numbers of Agoraphobics (fear of going outside), hordes of Coronaphobics (fear of people infected with the coronavirus), and global illness anxiety disorders.
Mental Illnesses Causing international Economic Chaos
The cataclysmic effect of the mental illnesses have caused international economic chaos, which has caused calls for ‘economic bailouts’, another absolutely terrifying mental illness that’s called ‘greed’. You see, the bailouts call for huge businesses, primarily for energy corporations and banks to receive financial relief in the billions of dollars (which are actually one and the same, as most banks are heavily invested in fossil fuels). So in effect, the banks (who ‘own’ most businesses through loans and such) are going to get government to borrow billions and billions of dollars from the banks, then give it back to the banks as ‘economic bailouts’, which is just bloody well insane if you ask me.
Economic Bailouts Another Form Of Mental Illness
You see, I reckon that if government is going to borrow money, it should be going to small businesses, which make up the bulk of businesses in the nation. If large industries are going to get any bailouts, let it be to transportation systems (airlines, rails, buses, etc.), entertainment and sport venues, and health facilities who’ve been over run by the public. In closing, no matter what else, there’s two things that this latest medical fanatical fad has taught us, and they’re that disaster planning is a planning disaster, and the worst effect so far of the Coronavirus has been public insanity.
